Get Ready! Program
Beginning in the summer of 2021, individuals participating in Carousel Connections’ Get Ready! Program spend approximately 2 weeks living independently with a small cohort of housemates. Carousel mentors will work with participants to develop their skills in all aspects of independent living: taking care of the home; personal care routines; meal planning and preparation; navigating the community; and more!
A typical stay at the Get Ready! Program lasts for twelve nights, though some sessions might be shortened to accommodate holidays. Regardless of the length of session, the cost of the program is $380 per night.

Our Haverford College Summer Home
The setting that Carousel Connections offers is unique. We live in college campus apartments and homes, surrounding by an engaging peer group and supportive mentors who model independence. When one family was asked about the experience of having their child live outside of the home, they responded, “You think your child can’t, but they can! We found giving up control to be the most difficult, but once you do, you learn how much more your child can do.”
Weekend Adventures
Throughout the school year, Carousel participants join for weekend adventures to the Pocono Mountains. These experiences allow for continued skill development and opportunities to build relationships.
