Chicken Parmesan

This easy Chicken Parmesan recipe features lightly breaded chicken breasts topped with warm marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Pair with pasta, rice, or veggies.
Ingredients
2 large boneless chicken breasts (cut in half lengthwise to make 4 thin pieces)
1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian style)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg (beaten)
1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt & pepper (optional)
Optional: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or low-sodium sauce
Directions:
1. Set up
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper.
2. Prepare the chicken
Put breadcrumbs and Parmesan in a shallow bowl.
Beat the egg in another bowl.
Dip each piece of chicken in the egg, then press into the breadcrumb mix.
Place the coated chicken on a plate.
3. Cook the chicken
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Cook each chicken piece for 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden.
Transfer to the baking tray.
4. Add the toppings
Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of marinara over each chicken piece.
Sprinkle ¼ cup mozzarella on top of each one.
5. Bake it
Bake in the oven for 10–12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Serve and enjoy!
Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed veggies—whatever feels easiest and best.
