Ants on a Log
Prep Time: 10 min
Serves: 4
Ants on a Log is a fun and yummy way to get a mix of vegetables, fruit, and protein all in one bite! Celery is mostly made of water, fiber, and vitamins—especially Vitamin K, which helps with blood clotting when you get a cut or scrape. Water keeps us hydrated, fiber supports gut health, and vitamins keep our body functioning. Peanut butter and other nut butters add protein, which helps our muscles grow and our bodies repair after activity. Topping it off, raisins bring natural sweetness along with fiber and antioxidants, which help reduce inflammation and support digestion. A simple snack with powerful benefits!
Ingredients:
4 large celery stalks
½ cup peanut butter (or almond/sunflower seed butter)
¼ cup raisins
Optional Add ons:
Honey drizzle
Mini chocolate chips
Dried cranberries
Chia or hemp seeds
Instructions:
Wash and dry the celery stalks, then cut each stalk into 3 equal pieces (you’ll have 12 “logs” total).
Use a spoon or butter knife to spread peanut butter into the groove of each celery piece.
Top with raisins (your “ants”), spacing them evenly along the peanut butter.
Optional: Add a fun twist with toppings like a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of chia seeds.
Enjoy with friends or chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes for a cool crunch.
Tip: Make nut free by swapping out the peanut butter with a nut-free alternative like sunflower seed butter!
